MenuMechanical Technician
Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components. Drafts detailed drawings for fabrication. Devises, fabricates and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions. Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications.

Perform general mechanical assembly assignments and electrical assy build including cables, test fixtures and Engineering Prototype CCA's. Can perform simple troubleshooting tasks. Must be proficient with soldering equipment, general hand tools and electronic troubleshooting tools.
Perform mechanical and electrical assy tasks, electrical cable and CCA builds. Can recommend electrical and mechanical solutions. Can document electrical assys. Must be proficient with soldering equipment, general hand tools and electronic troubleshooting tools.
Perform assy tasks, electrical cable and CCA builds, can produce general mechanical solutions and can machine simple mechanical fabrications. Can document electrical assys and simple mechanical designs. Must be proficient with soldering equipment, general hand and power tools, general knowledge of machining tools (Mill, lathe and band saw) and electronic troubleshooting tools.
Perform assy tasks, electrical cable and CCA builds. Can design, fabricate and document complex electro-mechanical fixtures, assys and cables. Must be proficient with soldering equipment, general hand tools, electronic troubleshooting tools and machining equipment (lathe, mill, band saw and other machine tools).
High school diploma and an Associates degree (EE or EET preferred).
High school diploma and an Associates degree, plus 2 years of experience (EE or EET preferred).
High school diploma and an Associates degree (EE or EET preferred), plus 10 years of experience and machining experience/ demonstrated mechanical aptitude or demonstrated electronics troubleshooting experience.
High school diploma and an Associates degree (EE or EET preferred), plus 10 years of experience; minimum of 5 years machining experience, CNC knowledge.
Minimum education and years of experience requirements not to be used exclusive of other leveling factors. Substitution of additional relevant education and experience for stated qualifications may be considered.
