Final Assembly Inspector

Inspects mechanical final assembly installations of the aircraft such as fuselage, wings, flaps, landing gears and tail assemblies. Inspects systems such as hydraulic, pneumatic, oil, heat and brakes. Visually and physically inspects electrical installations. Rechecks work after adjustment or repair. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Maintains necessary inspection logs and writes inspection reports.

Perform uncomplicated mechanical measurements using a range of measuring tools. Review reworked and repaired items for acceptance. Describe nonconformance situations and may assist in the cause and resolution. Understand drawings and drawing notes. Perform Receiving and Inspection functions. Perform manufacturing in-process inspections. Perform non-destructive testing such as pressure and vacuum acceptance testing. Assist in performing higher levels of inspection. Describe nonconformance situations and assist in the cause and resolution. Determine effectiveness of corrective actions for nonconforming materials. The duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above; the incumbent is also obligated to assist lower and higher levels of inspection personnel.
Ability to perform Internal or External Audits to ISO 9001 and AS9100. Function as a Point-of-Contact during Regulatory and/or Customer audits. Ability to perform calibration functions on tooling and equipment. Possess working knowledge of inspection methods and instrumentation (including Electronic Inspection). Provide leadership and guidance to other department personnel. Ability to assist in training of other departmental personnel. Assist in coordination of corrective and preventative action and assist in the cause and resolution. All-encompassing understanding of drawings, Quality System procedures, Acceptance Test Procedures and Specifications. Customer Interface. The duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above; the incumbent is also obligated to assist lower and higher levels of inspection personnel.
Ability to execute all the functions of a QA Level I, II and III Inspector. Ability to understand and perform all aspects of receiving inspection, supplier selection, ratings and history. Ability to perform calibration functions on equipment and tooling. Ability to carry out in-house and Supplier Audits. Ability to review and comprehend Quality System procedures, Acceptance Test Procedures, and Quality Plans. Possess working knowledge of inspection methods and instrumentation. Assist QA Manager with any/all scheduling and/or Customer audits. Function as a Point-of-Contact during Regulatory and/or Customer audits. Provide leadership and guidance to other department personnel in the absence of management. Provide direction and training to other production workers. Maintain production schedules. Assist in training other personnel with respect to Quality Assurance procedures/policies. Perform other duties as required and requested by management. The duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above; the incumbent is also obligated to assist higher levels of inspection personnel.

High school graduate (or equivalent). Ability to read and write English. Ability to understand Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Ability to understand basic mathematical methods.
Reasonably good manual dexterity. Able to bend, stoop, reach and lift 40 lbs. minimum repetitively. High school graduate (or equivalent). Ability to read and write English and understand mathematical concepts. Blueprint interpretation (GD&T). Computer Skills - MS Excel, Word. Working knowledge of inspection methods and instrumentation. Excellent understanding in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Electronic Inspections using a Portable Coordinate Measuring Machine (FARO Arm/Laser Tracker) (optional).
Minimum 5 of years QA experience. Basic Computer Skills (MS Excel, Word, etc.). Understanding of ISO 9001 and AS9100. Ability to understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Good communication skills; verbal and written. High School Graduate or equivalent.
Reasonably good manual dexterity. Able to bend, stoop, reach and lift 40 lbs. minimum, repetitively. The incumbent must be able to withstand repetitive contact with water and moisture. High school graduate (or equivalent). Ability to read and write English. Ability to understand Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Ability to understand basic mathematical methods.
